The Effectiveness of the Integrated Multisystemic Approach by L. Sabbadini in the Speech Therapy Rehabilitation of a Patient Diagnosed with Global Dyspraxia and Verbal Dyspraxia

The ICD-10 ranks the Dyspraxia between the Specific developmental disorders of motor function. Individuals suffering from this disorder show motor coordination difficulties from the early phases of growth, which are not caused by neurosensory or neuromotor deficit. This disorder is also characterized by: difficulties in the acquisition of gross and fine motor skills and written and oral language skills; difficulties in learning new skills at school. Other symptoms are: difficulties with recreational activities, such as drawing or playing, and behavioral, social and emotional problems (Sabbadini, 2005). The aim of the study was to assess the effectiveness of the Integrated Multisystemic Approach by L. Sabbadini on a patient diagnosed with global dyspraxia and verbal dyspraxia, who had previously did speech therapy with a traditional approach, with no satisfactory results.
