Complessità della presa in carico logopedica del bambino bilingue
Francesca Cocco
The Italian situation reflects a fast-increasing cross-cultural phenomenon, requiring us to focus on the complex theme of language assessment of dual language learners. This diverse group of individuals presents different developmental patterns in communication and language acquisition. Therefore, the importance of preparing recommendations that provide appropriate clinical approaches and interventions is rising. The working hypothesis has been formulated on research regarding speech-language pathologists’ beliefs, gathered through the survey Plurilinguismo: Indagine sulla valutazione del linguaggio di utenti bilingui (Plurilingualism: A study on language assessment of bilingual individuals). The aim was to describe actual awareness of this topic. On the basis of analysis of international guidelines, we have developed strategies to outline good practice for language assessment of bilingual individuals.
