«Are We Ready for School?»

The Covid-19 emergency has profoundly changed the professional action of all clinicians. Due to recommendations for the prevention of the risk of infection, we have revised our strategies to be able to carry out the usual screening work to identify children with learning difficulties. The Ministerial Guidelines for the right to study of pupils with SLD, linked to Law 170/2010, and the SLD Consensus Conference highlight the importance of early identification and the activation of specific strengthening actions. With this in mind, we have created a remote screening project, shared with teachers and parents of children attending their first year of primary school. We used, in remote mode, specific questionnaires and protocols created for teachers and parents, based on what is expressed in the recommendations for clinical practice.
