Pasqualina Andretta, Anna Rita Beghetto, Laura Binotto
The purpose of this study was to gather information about parents’ knowledge of orofacial myofunctional disorder in babies from 0 to 36 months old in order to create a popular booklet that could respond to their needs. The data has been collected through the creation and distribution of a survey. Than a descriptive analysis of the data and a correlation analysis between some survey’s specific variables has been conducted. The results suggest that the parents need more information about breathing, feeding, use of alimentary tools, non-nutritive sucking and babies’ feeding development stages. This has been the starting point for the creation of the booklet Prevenire precocemente lo squilibrio muscolare orofacciale è possibile! Consigli e indicazioni del logopedista per i genitori. This primary prevention tool promotes the well-being of the child in a non-invasive and physiological way to safeguard his health in the long term.
