Il curricolo dalla parte delle radici: partire dagli studenti per costruire cittadinanza

Flavia Virgilio - flavia.virgilio@uniud.it

This paper discusses a case study of curriculum design in a lower secondary school which, by starting from concrete problems of classroom management and by putting a value on students' informal skills, have enabled the promotion of transversal competences of citizenship and specific skills related to the language and technology sector. The research question to which we have tried to answer regards the relevance of informal competences in the construction of formal curricula. The aim has been to identify the recognition criteria of students’ informal skills in schoolwork and curriculum design. The methodological approach has combined action research with ethnographic tools, ranging from participant observation to self-analysis of behaviors, from check-list to multimodal discourse analysis of textual and visual student productions.
