Cittadini senza cittadinanza? Giovani immigrati in Italia

The issue of citizenship and its political role when it comes to integrating the immigrants in the social fabric of the destination countries is at the centre of an important debate that questions us as citizens and scholars. Italy is nowadays the destination goal of large immigration flows. Moreover, family reunifications and second generations are rapidly rebalancing the demographic balance of its population. From this evolutionary perspective, which in many ways has put into light the contradiction and the inefficiency of the current national citizenship law, a critical reassessment is required, not only in terms of rethinking the legal conditions for obtaining it, but also and above all on the concept of citizenship in a philosophical, sociological and political context.
