Gruppi di supervisione: uno sguardo dentro e fuori l’accoglienza

Nicola Policicchio

The phenomenon of migration has taken on a numerical significance and a very high social relevance over the last few years. This has generated a series of opposing narratives within society. In this paper an attempt is made to explore the potential of the supervision group for reception service operators to offer appropriate models for understanding and interaction between public speeches on the issue of forced migration. Certain reference models drawn from psychodynamic theories on individuals and groups can provide elements of understanding for the emotional and subconscious components that coexist with the rational arguments within these narratives. Based on participation in various supervision meetings, several recurring themes were highlighted and some similarities with public speeches were revealed. It was also observed that certain polarities, which are non-reconcilable in social narratives, can instead be integrated and elaborated by the teams during the supervision programmes, resulting in an increase in the cohesion of the working groups and the finding of shared intervention strategies. Finally, current limits are highlighted and research guidelines are proposed to further analyse this area of study.
