The Two-Day International Conference «Psychology of Selection and Assessment: Calling, Meaning, Purpose, and Sustainable Development. Perspectives and Imperatives for Decent, Dignified, Worthy, Healthy Work and Life» (Second Edition), IAAP Special Project «Promoting Decent Work for All» will be held in hybrid mode on November 4th and 6th, 2024 at the Aula Magna of the Rectorate of the University of Florence. The event is part of a series of international conferences organized by Annamaria Di Fabio (Full Professor of Work and Organizational Psychology, University of Florence, Member of the Board of Directors BoD of the International Association of Applied Psychology IAAP) within the IAAP Special Project «Promoting Decent Work for All», which the University of Florence has been in charge of since 2018. The event was organized by the Department of Education, Languages, Interculture, Literatures and Psychology of the University of Florence with the support of Division 1 «Work and Organizational Psychology» of the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP). This Conference was also promoted by the University of Wroclaw (Poland), which coordinates the UNESCO Chair «Lifelong Guidance and Counseling» and the UniTwin Network «Life Designing Interventions (counseling, guidance, education) for decent work and sustainable development» and by the Italian Association of Psychology (Associazione Italiana di Psicologia, AIP). The scientific committee of the event is composed of Annamaria Di Fabio (University of Florence, Italy), Dina Guglielmi (University of Bologna, Italy), Maureen Kenny (Boston College, USA), and José María Peiró (IDOCAL Research Institute, University of Valencia, Spain). The event will include prestigious keynote speakers such as José Maria Peiró (Professor Emeritus of Work and Organizational Psychology, IDOCAL Research Institute, University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain; Past President of the International Association of Applied Psychology IAAP), Maureen E. Kenny (Professor Emerita of Counseling, Developmental, and Educational Psychology, Boston College, USA), and Vicente Martinez-Tur (Full Professor of Work and Organizational Psychology, IDOCAL Research Institute, University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain; President of the Division 1 Work and Organizational Psychology of the International Association of Applied Psychology IAAP). This event will propose innovative topics related to the selection and assessment for decent, dignified, worthy, healthy work and life for research, interventions and practices at local, national and international levels. This event is also connected to the ceremony for the awarding of the Honoris Causa Degree to Prof. José Maria Peiró, which will be held on November 5th, 2024 at the Aula Magna of the Rectorate of the University of Florence.

Career Guidance and Counseling for Hope in the Anthropocene

On 26th-27th March, 2025, the UNITWIN Conference Career Guidance and Counseling for Hope in the Anthropocene will take place in Joensuu, Finland. The conference is organized in association with the UNESCO/UNITWIN International Network Life Designing Interventions (counseling, guidance, education) for decent work and sustainable development with the University of Eastern Finland as the main operational organizer in collaboration with University of Jyväskylä. The conference is open to UNITWIN network members and all colleagues interested in career guidance, decent work, life design and related topics. The event will include the following keynote speakers: Antti Rajala (Professor of Sociocultural Psychology and Education, University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland); Meenakshi Chhabra (Professor and Vice Provost; Fulbright Global Scholar & Fulbright faculty liaison, Lesley University, USA); and David Blustein (Professor, the Golden Eagle Faculty Fellow, Department of Counseling, Developmental, and Educational Psychology at Boston College Boston College, USA). The conference will also include paper sessions and symposia.
