Posthumanist perspective on youth development in sport

Matteo Giuriato

This article reimagines the development of youth sport through a post-humanist lens. Moving beyond traditional human-centred models, it proposes a framework that emphasises collaboration, teamwork, and relationality. Concepts like «intra-action» challenge the idea of isolated individuals and propose development as a continuous co-creation between players, coaches, and even the environment. The article explores practical applications, including cooperative games, nature-based training, and the use of wearable technology for personalised feedback, prioritising social learning and human interaction. This new approach paves the way for more inclusive and holistic youth development in the field of sport.
