For publication in the journal Counseling. Giornale Italiano di Ricerca e Applicazioni contributions must be sent as a hard copy and a digital copy (via e-mail too) to: Annamaria Di Fabio, Dipartimento di Scienze della Formazione e Psicologia, via di San Salvi 12, Complesso di San Salvi – Padiglione 26, 50135 Firenze and adifabio@psico.unifi.it.

Together with this material the authors must send in a signed letter authorizing the publication of the material and guaranteeing the authenticity and uniqueness of the work submitted.

  • Each article will be reviewed by at least two referees (double blind peer review).
  • As far as ethical principles are concerned, the journal adheres to the standards set by the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th Edition).
  • Each article must have:
  1. Author(s) Name(s)
  2. A concise, clear title
  3. Author’s affiliation and address
  4. Author’s e-mail address, telephone number and fax number for correspondence
  5. Abstract (maximum length 120 words)
  6. Key words (from 2 to 6 separated by semi-colons).
  • Instructions for drafting abstracts: the maximum length of the abstract is 120 words.
  • Instructions for drafting articles:

a) the maximum length of the article is 35,000 characters including spaces (including graphs, tables, notes and bibliography);

b) any notes must be marked using progressive numbers and must be of a purely explicative nature (not bibliographical);

c) paragraphs (not numbered, with bold headings) and sub-paragraphs (not numbered, with headings in italics) must be clearly marked leaving: a space between the heading and the start of the relative text; two spaces between the end of one paragraph and the heading of the next;

d) italics, never bold or underlining, must be used to highlight parts of text or foreign words; the terms «counseling» and «counselor», due to their importance within the contributions of this journal, are to be written in plain font and not in italics;

e) citations in the text from works given in the bibliography must be done according to APA (sixth edition) rules, following these examples: (Savickas, 2003), or (Flores, Byars, & Torres, 2002; Fouad et al., 2006; Jordan & Pope, 2001; Munson & Savickas, 1998; Savickas, Taber, & Spokane, 2002);

f) in the bibliography citations are given — according to APA (sixth edition) rules — in alphabetical order of author surname and in chronological order (from the first publication date to the most recent) for works belonging to the same author;

g) depending on the nature of the works cited, the bibliography should be set out as in the following models:

– Journal articles:
